An Extinct Bird is Brought to Life

This lifelike reconstruction of Archaeopteryx was created by Greg Septon at The Milwaukee Public Museum. After studying the fossil imprints, Septon used the teeth from a rainbow trout and the plumage and body parts of seven different species of birds from around the world to bring Archaeopteryx to life. This bird reconstruction and one of only seven fossil Archaeopteryx skeletons in the world will be exhibited October 4-19, 1997, at The Field Museum in Chicago.
